Ghost Rider Review

Recently I saw the film Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and have to say that it wasn't as bad as I expected. First of all, I am a huge fan of the character and that may influence my review some, but I will try to make it as balanced as possible. I think that it was a very "ok" movie, for everything that it did wrong about the overall story and acting, it made up for with great visuals and spectacular action scenes. It was supposed to be a different timeline from the 2007 film and definently feels that way, although you are expected to know the basic plot. The art design looks much more like the modern comics and is more accurate to the character, Johnny Blaze's Ghost Rider, while the earlier film made him look much more like the Dan Ketch Ghost Rider. This film also has a much grittier look, that I didn't like when I first saw it at Comic Con, but it has really grown on me to the point at which I think it is one of the best character designs in comic-book-movie history. The point that it falls short is the story telling, since it was directed by Mark Nevedine and Brian Taylor, AKA, the directors of Crank, basically the movie should have been strait action, but was dragged down by the story.
