Earlier this week the second trailer for
Prometheus was released for Wondercon. When the movie was announced it was originally going to be a prequel to
Alien(1979), although later director
Ridley Scott stated that he had canceled the Alien prequel, and that it had turned into a movie of its own. Just under 2 years later the first trailer for "Prometheus" was released. With the release, many fans mentioned the architecture of the ship shown and how similar it looked to the opening scene from alien, they also talked about how the space suits scene looked like the ones form the Alien franchise. About a month later some pictures from the movie were released, one of which had a creature in the background that looked very much like the
"Space Jockey" from the first alien movie. After that an abridged version of the second trailer was released that not only played the theme from Alien, but also quickly flashed a clip of the Space Jockey's face, hinting that there will be interactions between the characters and that the film will take place in the same universe as the Alien movies. And now, just last week, the second trailer for the film was unveiled, revealing that not only will at least one Space Jockey play a major role in the movie, but also that it will be a direct prequel to the first Alien, hopefully telling what happened to the crew of the
Archerom/ LV-426 (crashed ship from the first Alien movie).
