Movie Poster For Moneyball
Art Credit: Columbia Pictures |
Recently I watched the movie Moneyball. The movie was fantastic. The movie in my opinion was easily in competition with The Artist. The movie was directed by
Bennett Miller and starred Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. The movie shows the heart wrenching story of the Oakland A's and their unique look at baseball. The team at the beginning of the movie loses their best player Derek Jeter to another team. Brad Pitt's character then decides to hire the Sabermetrics analyst of the Red Sox to help him make a better team. The film then follows the team both on and off the field. The team is regarded as a joke because their whole theory is to buy cheap players that are really good but have things like criminal records and injuries that make the players impossible to put on an MLB team. Brad Pitt's character has problems at home because he went through a divorce recently. This only adds to the amount of stress that he is facing and leads to the stress that is so well shown by Mr. Pitt himself. The movie used silence between two people talking very well and had a very minimal soundtrack that led to most of the movie being quiet. The movie runs a little long but the ending is well worth the wait. - Alex Crumb
