Recently the 2012 84th Academy Awards took place in Hollywood. Many actors, actresses, producers and directors took home one of the coveted award. The list of presenters was star-studded, with multiple stars presenting the shiny trophies. The nominations for best picture included "Warhorse" "Tree of Life" and of course "The Artist" among other fantastic movies from this year. In the end, however, I was happy to see the Academy Award for Best Picture go to The Artist. I was not dissapointed. I felt that the film earned it. I felt that it was a very different concept then any other movies of 2011 and 2012. It all fit together very well and I think it was well earned. This was Thomas Langmann's first nomination for an Academy Award and he had one hell of a run if you ask me. To win Best Picture for your first Academy Award Nomination is a huge accomplishment. However, many other well earned awards were presented. Jean Dujardin, who played George Valentin in the Artist took home the Oscar for best Actor in a Leading Role. The award for best costume design went to Mark Bridges for The Artist also. The Oscar for directing went to Michel Hazanivicus ALSO for The Artist. As you can probably see, The Artist cleaned shop at the Academy Awards, and for good reason.  ---JackRULEZ
