The Art Behind The Artist

Hello, JackRulez here. Recently I saw the movie, The Artist, directed by Michel Hazanavicius. My expectations going into the theater were low. I had never seen a black and white AND silent movie, and due to my upbringing in this age of special effects. After seeing the move, I was impressed with the way the director was able to incorporate an intricate plot despite the lack of sound and color. The story deals with a silent movie actor, George Valentine, who is caught up with the "talkies" revolution. He becomes friends with an aspiring actress who stars in movies that use sound. His career as a silent movie actor is ruined, and unable to accept it, he pours his remaining money into his own production, Tears of Love. This movie illustrates the revolution of sound in movies and dramatically portrays how  this affected silent movie actors. This movie does this so well, in fact, that it was nominated for 10 Oscars. I would, in fact reccomend this  movie to others despite its unusual format. I thought that it was well made and produced. That it still managed to portray an interesting plot despite its format goes to show something about the writers and producers of this film. So go check it out dawg.
